Seven things I want to do before I die:
1. Teach
2. Write...several books...
3. Tell the people in my life how much I love them and how proud I am of them, even for the little stuff
4. Make progress on the whole gambit of social and political problems in the world...and contribute my ideas and efforts to that end...
5. To meet one other person, at least...a woman, preferably...who cares more about doing good...than looking good...for real...
6. To fall in love with that woman...and to have a family...and to hope for the best for a world that's always looking for the worst...
7. Persuade folks to treat each other better
Seven things I can do:
1. Teach
2. Write
3. Think 12 moves ahead when most folks see two feet in front of them
4. Identify with and love just about anyone
5. Deal with pain
6. Take responsibility
7. Be realistic...and honest about realities...even and especially uncomfortable ones...
Seven things I cannot do:
1. Play the guitar...or drums...or any instrument, really:)...except for sing...which I'm pretty good at, really:)...
2. Do surgery or practice medicine of any kind
3. Hate or act indifferently toward others
4. Cheat...or intentionally break anyone's heart in any way...
5. Be self-centered
6. Be self-righteous
7. Pretend...when the stakes are too high...
