Destroying the village in order to save it
I'm beginning to see that so many of our problems are because we take our problems and our feelings and opinions and our political wrangling about our problems too seriously.
I don't mean that we shouldn't take them seriously, obviously.
I just mean that we hurt so many people in name of helping people.
Constantly destroying the village in order to save it. And yet it's always on fire.
The NPR report on the drug war, this week, is a serious example of this problem, and an important reason that so many young people look at life so differently than so many older people.
And older people think that if they can just knock some sense into those kids then they can save them.
Constantly destroying the village in order to save it.
Just once it would be nice if maybe we could just save the village in order to save it.
Love,
Ben
